So I've been playing and enjoying the Last of Us MP lately and as a fan of the natural stuff wanted to try blocking out a map set in a forest for practice and to try something less urban.

I used UE4 and Blender to mock it up with the basic third person controller to feel things out.

Some things would of course have to be tweaked to make things feel right in the context of the actual game (Line of sight and cover with real foliage, FOV, player scale, etc.) but I'm happy with it for now and no sense taking further without being able to play it for real.

If you want to walk around for yourself to get a better feel for the space, here’s a link to a build 129MB.

1 + 2 Keys will teleport you to the initial spawns for each team.

As it’s set in a forest I’ve tried to make a point of building in landmarks for callouts/orientation and make each section of the map feel distinct while still keeping it mostly natural.

At the midway point on the open/river side of the map is the house/cabin and on the opposite closed side is a crashed truck that came off the snaking road on the cliff outside of the playspace.

The center of the map people would just call top mid or tunnels for the lower part. There is also a fallen over hollowed out tree trunk in the middle on one side that acts as a line of sight blocker and a bridge up to the top mid area, a bit silly but maybe fun.

If you haven't played The Last of Us MP the red boxes are where you collect crafting items for bombs, molotovs, etc.
